Great Dane - Aluminum Plate Freight Vans:

Proven sheet and post technology combined with the highest cubic capacity available make the Great Dane Aluminum Plate trailer stronger, perform better and last longer.

One-piece top rail with integral plate and post cap extrusion:
Extending down from the top rail and overlapping the top of the plate wall and posts of the trailer, is a cap extrusion that extends beyond the outermost surface of the post and plate. This design offers the best resistance to water leakage. The one-piece aluminum or fiberglass roof is stretched side-to-side, as well as front to back. Closely riveted with a foam sealing tape between roof sheet and top rail, both are secured by an aluminum "J" moulding. Then a liberal coating of neoprene sealant is applied and evenly coats the rivet heads.

Wider sidewall posts with 100% more stenghening rivets:
Great Dane plate trailers feature a double row of rivets on 2" centers connecting the plate to the top and bottom rails.

Superior upper coupler area design:
Superior design in the landing gear and upper coupler area provides a more structurally sound trailer. The tough, resilient hardwood floor extends to within 50" of the front wall and is supported by heavy-duty, steel, hat-shaped crossmembers.

Interlocking post and plate design:
Adjoining plates are not butted together on top of the side posts on the interior of the trailer. Instead, Great Dane interlocks the industry's thickest standard plate material, (.160") into the cavity of its exclusive heavy-duty "offset" post design. By replacing 6" of aluminum plate with a stronger, heavy-duty post at each joint, the wall provides better resistance to sidewall bulge with no overall weight penalty. For protection, the joints are double sealed with two barriers of foam tape and caulked internally. Plates and posts are securly fastened together by two rows of rivets on 2" centers.

Strongest sidewall post in the industry:
Great Dane's unique post design greatly reduces sidewall bulging. The use of 9" wide extruded aluminum posts, along with the interlocking post and plate design, make for the strongest plate trailer sidewall in the industry..

Integral 6" bottom rail and scuff liner protects and strengthens sidewall:
Full-length, one-piece extruded aluminum bottom rail and scuff liner design adds tremendous strength and rigidity in the lower sidewall. This helps reduce sidewall bulging and forklift damage. Rivet heads are fully recessed into the scuff liner eliminating rivet countersinking.

Additional Standard Features:
Unique full-length bottom rail allows for uniform height plates and posts from front to rear.

Rear door opening height is 110". Two lock rods are standard on each door to provide added strength and security. An additional anti-theft feature, the Secura-Cam allows the lock rod to be secured with a padlock directly to the lower keeper. Secura-Cam is standard on curbside door only.

Wheelends include single nut fasteners, which offer greater clamping force, and make for quicker, easier tire changes.

Extruded aluminum front post with 3" radius provides an interior square corner for maximum cargo loading.

Galvanized anti-snag roof bows on 24" centers, permanently bonded to a one-piece .040" thick aluminum roof sheet. Optional translucent fiberglass roof available.

Logistic Post Option:
Great Dane offers an optional logistic "A"-post on plate trailers. This post is dimensionally interchangeable with the standard post but differs in that it features a hollowed section to allow for the insertion of a galvanized logistic hat-section piece. The logistic post eliminates the need for tie-down cup and possibility of leakage
